Very beautiful landscape. It was beyond descriptioon, so I cannot say anything when I looked this view. Only I can do is to take photo :-) I drove the rental car - auto park cost is 410yen. You can access there by local bus. Oronko iwa(Oronko Rock) is landmark, just like the gate for Shiretoko world natural heritage site. Climb up this huge rock, you can watch flying slaty-backed gulls as well as cute flowers. Climbing route is heavy and little bit long stairs, you should be careful your steps.

In Japan, there are many roadside station, called michi - no - eki, for long distance driver and tourist.(michi means road, eki means station in Japanese) Utoro's roadside station is here, and you can get any information about Shiretoko World Natural Heritage. There are information desk for sightseeing spot, staying, and nice restaurants. You can use English, Chinese, Korean, and French. If you go to shiretoko, stop this station, and get a lot of information and take a coffee break for your drive.
